Kuldhara Village
The village situated 18 kilometers away from the center of the city, had been abandoned by the residents here about 200 years ago. The village was abandoned in a matter of a single night. The town was initially built around a temple of the local deity of Kuldhara Village people. The rumors say that back in the days of the rule of Kings, the then minister Salim Singh fancied a girl who belonged to this village. He made several attempts to get to her. But the girl refused his proposal. When the minister refused to accept the rejection, the angered people of the town decided to leave his land. They all abandoned the houses in the dead of the night and cursed the ruler. Since then, the temple and town lie empty, it is believed to be a cursed land, and people don’t live here or refuse to buy a land here.
Bada Bagh
Bada Bagh is a beautiful garden, in the center of which a cenotaph had been constructed by Raja Lunkaran, in the memory of his father Maharawal Jait Singh who ruled Jaisalmer in the 16th century. After the construction of this cenotaph, strange and mysterious activities started to occur on the premises. The cenotaph began to be considered a bad omen or a curse on the city.
Khaba Fort
The fort lying on the edges of Jaisalmer is situated on a remote location. There are no roads or residences or even markets nearby this fort. The fort, used earlier for guarding the city has been a witness of various attacks on Jaisalmer during the rule of Kings. Tourists who visit this place say that there is an eerie silence covering the premises which given them a chilling feeling.
The Chudail Trail
The Chudail Trail is a supposedly cursed well which is located in Dedha Village near Jaisalmer. The well has been a witness to various Sati deaths (or should we say suicides?). The visitors as well as locals living in this area report encountering spirits and paranormal activities during the evening and nights near this well. Residents also stay miles away from the well during Full Moon and No Moon nights. The locals also have several stories of them sighting mysterious activities or meeting strange people around the well and the Shiva Temple in which it is built. Some people believe that the women who were victims of Sati haunt this place and seek revenge from their perpetrators.
If these stories don’t make you want to visit them and experience the eerie sensations first-hand, then you are not really a thrill-seeking person at all.
